How did your charge weights compare between 4350 and N555?I tested N555 as a potential back up to H4350 for my 6.5 CM. I found it to perform really well.
BUT.....at that time N555 cost a bit more so I stayed with H4350.
My experience also in 6.5 CM with 140 gr bullets. Compressed powder loads for me.It’s about 1.5 grains slower than H4350
1.5gr slower? It’s about 1.5 grains slower than H4350 in a few rifles I have tried. 300 wsm and 7 Saum.
Excellent reading @Laurie and thanks for posting that. I've also searched for alternatives. I do a lot of powder testing also and I've had very good results with Ramshot. During my testing of H414 in my 243AI, I found wild pressure spikes at times which I never did figure out. I hope to see your test results with the fairly new Staball Match. Thanks again for your post.Much closer to the 4350s than to H4831.

Finding triple nickel is far harder than finder H4350 or H4831SC (both of which seem quite easy to find online recently. I’m still in search of a larger jug of N555 to test for my .284win. A few great folks on this site have offered up 1 pounders of 555 to me recently, but I’d hate to start testing with only 1lb and then end up liking it and having to find moreI tested N555 as a potential back up to H4350 for my 6.5 CM. Plus $44 hazmat fee
Plus $17 UPS ground fee
Total $473.85 delivered.
Ouch, this stuff better come wrapped in gold leaf and a free brick of primers. Lol. $59.25/lb delivered.
It’s literally the only place I’ve seen N555 online in the last 6 months.
Dave.
And there lies the rub.....It's a bulky powder. Yes, you need more powderYes it takes 1.5 grains more N555 to equal same speed as H4350 with less pressure.
