I tested N555 as a potential back up to H4350 for my 6.5 CM. I found it to perform really well.
BUT.....at that time N555 cost a bit more so I stayed with H4350.

How did your charge weights compare between 4350 and N555?

I cannot recall. I will look thru my log book and report back.
Much closer to the 4350s than to H4831.

My experience also in 6.5 CM with 140 gr bullets. Compressed powder loads for me.
1.5gr slower?
Meaning 1.5gr more than H4350?
Excellent reading @Laurie and thanks for posting that. I've also searched for alternatives. I do a lot of powder testing also and I've had very good results with Ramshot. During my testing of H414 in my 243AI, I found wild pressure spikes at times which I never did figure out. I hope to see your test results with the fairly new Staball Match. Thanks again for your post.

My 6mm Creedmoor behind a 108 ELD 44.2 gr of N555 produces about 3100 fps SRP brass.
The same bullet and SRP brass 41.5grs of H4350 produces about 3,075 FPS

Finding triple nickel is far harder than finder H4350 or H4831SC (both of which seem quite easy to find online recently. I’m still in search of a larger jug of N555 to test for my .284win. A few great folks on this site have offered up 1 pounders of 555 to me recently, but I’d hate to start testing with only 1lb and then end up liking it and having to find more

It’s literally the only place I’ve seen N555 online in the last 6 months.

Seems like even ordering powder from Powder Valley, you might as well figure a extra $5 a pound for shipping fees and taxes.

And there lies the rub.....It's a bulky powder. Yes, you need more powder
to get the same speeds, but you can't get it into the case. I worked with
it from .284's and smaller. I was not impressed and sold it off to Kenny
to play with. Too bad 4451 is no longer made (maybe) ?? I found several
workups with 7mm/180gr class bullets that shot right with R-16 and H4350.
