Vortex Warranty

Old Navy

The eyepiece on my Golden Eagle came loose awhile back. I sent it in to Vortex for repair. A new box came from Vortex came today and it was not what I was expecting. It contained a brand new scope. They said they were unable to repair mine. Absolutely great service. Doesn't get any better than this. The new scope has a different eyepiece.

I had a similar instance. The folks at Vortex are first rate in my opinion.

They fixed my golden eagle turret issues and i had it back in a little over 1 week and i got a personal call on what was going on.

1 word AWESOME

I might add that i bought it used. No questions asked. They took it back at their expense

I bought a used Vortex GE from a member here late last summer. It arrived minus the sunshade, which I knew about when I bought it. I scoured the internet and found sunshades for a lot of Vortex scopes, but none for the GE. I emailed Vortex to see if I could buy one directly from them. Told them that I bought it used. I got a reply that afternoon, telling me to keep an eye on my mailbox. The sunshade arrived two days later, along with an insulated tumbler, a couple of hats and some lens cloths. Pretty impressive.

Just traded into a gun with my 1st Vortex. A Razor HD Gen 3 FFP 6-36x56.......It really is a very nice, high-quality scope. Perfect for the ELR application it is used for. I am, for the most part, a March guy. I always considered Vortex kind of a second tier of good scopes. Most likely because of the many lower price point optics they offer.....Their higher-end offerings ( at least this one ) are as nice as any I have played with.....including Valdada, Nightforce, and March that I have owned......I have not owned a March HM.

Regards
Rick

I dropped my 22# rifle with a Vortex on it - it hit a a concrete floor - turrets first. They fixed it, no questions, I didn't even cover the shipping ...
Did it look like this?
It's on its way to ID and I really don't look forward to the prognosis.
Luckily only the scope and not the Wheeler LRB took all the hit.
BTW, I had to zero it again but it responded perfectly and I used it in taking 3rd in Two Gun both days at MSSA IBS 600. Also, picked up a LG plaque on Saturday with it.

People beat up Vortex sometimes about the quality of their products
but would you rather spend a lot of money and not get a great warranty?
I currently don't own one, but have had a few in the past. So not a fan boy.
Most of their scopes are a good price and quality.
What ever it is they will fix it or replace it, fast.

I used to stick with Leupold in the past cause of quality products and the outstanding warranty. In the past 15 years or so I’ve included Vortex, and lately Burris, due to their same great warranties. I enjoy hunting groundhogs and occasionally short range benchrest matches. No where near a seasoned competitor as many here are, and not kicking sand on the fine higher end scopes, but if I shell out $1500-$2000+ for glass I like that it’s fully covered.

Did same thing to my Bushnell XRS., 4 foot drop onto concrete right on the elevation turret... But it didn't break a thing !
The rifle weighs a little over 19 lbs with the scope mounted.

Please report back with an overview of how it went for you.
Thx

I put the scope in Priority Mail 3/20 and it arrived (must have traveled on a snail's back) in Orofino, ID Monday April . Yesterday afternoon I got an email from Mike explaining that they had evaluated it to find the extent of the damage and asked me to call today to discuss. To my amazement (and great relief) Mike explained that the tube was not structurally damaged and they would replace the trim ring and sunshade, along with cleaning up the slight bit of scarring on the objective bell of the tube a NO CHARGE.
He did say the elevation turret would have to be replaced and the charge for repair and testing the scope to make sure it was perfect before it got sent back would cost $220. Even took time to provide me a detailed explanation of what was involved in the repair process.
Now, icing on the cake, he said they should have everything fixed, tested by be on the way back to me next Wednesday. I own quite a few NF products now and have owned as many as 15 of their scopes at one time. Never had to use a warranty but I sent a couple of mismatched (mil reticle with MOA turrets) back for conversions. I had prepared for the worst but instead got the best!
As soon as I can get It back, mounted and tested I'll follow up here again.

A couple of years ago, I bought a used Golden Eagle here on the forum. It came to me with a loose eye piece, a bad turret, and a scrape on the objective bell. The seller refused to refund, claiming that it was fine when it was shipped, so I sent it in to Vortex. They replaced the eye piece and both turrets as well as buffing out the scrape so that it is now barely noticeable.

In the end I was a lot happier with Vortex than I was with the seller.

He either didn't pack it well enough or lied.
Either way, I would have left a bad "feedback"

Well, it wasn’t the neatest packing job that I’ve ever saw, but I don’t think anything was loose enough to cause damage in shipping. At the time he was a long time member with bunch of positive feedback. I took it that he was an old guy and I kinda hoped that maybe he just made an honest mistake.

I just checked and he has recently accumulated some negative feedbacks for slow shipping and shipping the wrong item.

To add just a little to my post. This was the second time the eye piece came loose. I recommend that you guys that have them check them.
