Vortex Razor VS Sightron

Dears

I own a Sightron 12-50x60 and I'm satisfied.
I'm using it on paper target till 300,500 meter and on steel target till 800,1000meter.

Due the heavy mirage not very often I use the magnification more than 24X on the paper; 24X or less magnification on farer steel target.
Using it at 50X on far target is useless.

In the next future I want to step up to a major quality and think to substitute the Sightron with a better one and more expensive;
I'm looking at a Vortex razor Gen2 4.5-27X56.

As told I'm using it closed to 24X due the optical quality but even due the correct correspondence to the recticle size (mil-dot).

Despite the difference the SFP against the FFP of the Vortex
I'm asking to you if you had the experience of a comparison beetween the two about the quality of glass.
At 24X have I to expect a major quality in optics to justify the expense?

Thanks.

For that price you could buy the highend SV Sightron scope. It is also 34mm main tube with ED glass. Similar magnification as well.

I have the SV model but in 10-50×60mm moa version.
A fellow competitor has the Nightforce SHV 5-25×56mm which he loves MOAR illuminated center reticle.

Thank you for your advise, but here in Italy you can find very often the s3 model. Instead the SV is very rare and expensive, closed to NF and S&B.
Moreover It’s difficult to find it on primary online shops.

So I was looking for information for the Vortex.
Ciao.

My Razor Gen2 does not compare in optical quality to my SVSSED 10-50. I love the mechanicals of my Razor, but optics aren't it's strongest suit.

Yep. I have an 8-32x56 Sightron SIII and a 4.5-27x56 Razor Gen2. They look fairly similar to my eyes; different lens coating obviously, so a different color profile, but the glass quality is pretty similar (at least to my eyes). The turrets/adjustments of the vortex are really nice though.

Reading your posts my choice to migrate from Sightron S3 12-50x60 to Razor seems far from a quantum leap;
probably the extra money I have to spend is not justified by the difference between the two scopes.

Maybe save the money and eventualy invest in higher level scope than razor.
Correct?

Shoul'd I consider a better optical behaviour with a shorter magnification like Sig. 8-32x56 against larger Sig. 12-50x60?

Thanks again.

Just did an intensive comparison.
A mate in the range own's a GE. They are very similar.

Till 35X magnification Sig and GE are indistinguishable.
Over 35X to 50X Sig is a bit sharper. Very low difference.
The GE's turrets are a bit better, but did not find a MIL based.

Those difference are so small that are noticeable just when you compare the two scope side by side in the same time paying close attention.

My opinion is that they are equal ad
no way to spend money to leave Sig to buy a GE or to leave a GE to buy a Sightron.
