Vortex Razor PRE HD ?????

I have a friend who has a Pair of Vortex Razor PRE HD 10x50 or 10x42 (he did quite remember) binos and he said he would give them to me for $175 but the only kicker is that they have some moisture in them and will need to be sent back to Vortex to get fixed. I am currently using a pair of Steiner Predator C5 10x42. My question is, are the Razor non HD's that much better in quality and how is the price and all with the Razors sound. I haven't found much at all on the Razors pre HD. How is dealing with the vortex warrantee as well? Thanks for any and all input!

Nothing special about the non HD vortex glass, but also nothing to worry about with any sort of warranty claims. They will fix them totally free of charge, guaranteed. I think $175 is a really fair price for those binos even if they have issues because the vortex warranty is sure to take care of you, no questions asked and no proof of purchase required.
