Vortex Customer Service

It's not bashing, it's experience (friend) 3 Vortex returned in 6 months....2 in the last month. All 5-25 PSTs.
And the issues he had were???
I accidentally overtorqued a PST Gen I and bent the tube. Vortex not only replaced the scope but upgeraded me to a GEN II PST at no charge. Maybe your bud got a little overzealous with the screws?

I've had more than a handful of Gen2 and Gen3 Razors. The only issue I've had was from a dropped gun, scope first, on to a concrete floor.
Do that, as I did, with a NF and see where the narrative takes you. It takes you into your wallet!
Now, in defense of Nightforce, they could have just said it was totaled and sold me a new replacement.
They could have charged me a lot more than they did ($220) and they could have taken weeks to make the repairs (back home and 100% in a week).

IMO the Vortex "No questions asked" warranty is part of the problem with their reputation. Now, I'm not complaining but we tend to (all too often) take the path of least resistance in diagnosing a gun problem. If that rifle wears a Vortex "well its got to be the scope gone bad". Do you send it back only to have them return the same scope with a note that says nothing found or do they just send you a new replacement and never bother to tell you anything but "we're sorry but enjoy your new scope".
Vortex is about the ONLY used scope I will buy. Why? Because when you put your optic up for sale that you didn't cover the objective lens before you brushed the barrel with solvent outside in the wind or because you beat it against a barricade at a PRS match or it bounced around in your work truck for two years, Vortex is the ONLY manufacturer that will replace it NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

They quit tracking. More to the point bullets went all over the place including off target. Scopes are in Burris Signature Zee rings and he's pretty meticulous with how things get put together.
The first scope he had for a little over a year when it went south (mounted on a Savage Target 223). Bases are bedded and he torques the rings.
He sent that back and the replacement lasted about 4 months before it did the same. That replacement never could get to track from the get go.
He has other Vortex scopes that "work" but he's done with them due to the issues he's been having.
We shoot most every Friday (not always the same guns) , and it's somewhere between 30-50 rounds a session.
Yes, we've switched other scopes on the rifle and never an issue pertaining to the rifle itself.

Not sure how many people know this, just a little history. They started as a small company selling other companies spotting scopes and binoculars to bird watchers. Then decided to create their own brand of optics. It has grown massively into a large respectable company in the past 15 years.
Vortex has its roots as a veteran-owned retail store known as Wild Birds Unlimited in 1986.
The founders and couple were Daniel and Margie Hamilton.
The Hamiltons soon realized that binoculars were poorly-made. As a result, customers complained.
Poor coating, heavyweight, short eye relief! The few binoculars that were good were almost-luxury European brands.
So, the American brand Vortex entered the sporting optics market in 2002. And, of course, they focused on binoculars.
Vortex Optics bought high-quality binoculars in bulk from international brands.
Then they resold them as “Eagle Optics” to local stores in the United States and in Canada.

Over the past few years I've become more and more a Vortex man moving away from Leupolds. Don't get me wrong, I love Leupolds and they are great scopes, but the Vortex warrantee is second to none. Just picked up a Vortex Venum First Field view and love it.
