Vortex Customer Service

I had a real nice Vortex 4 x16 scope with a lot of nice features, but I could not shoot well with this scope.

They were very responsive. Tested the scope and sent the results back to me. After discussing the issue with them, they identified my problem. Their scopes, according to them, have a "small eye box" compared to Leupold which is what I am primarily experienced with. My inability to get a clear sight picture at higher magnification was due to the small eye box according to them.

I sold the scope and didn't take too bad of a beating since I got in on sale at Midway at a very attractive price. But it's the last time I ever bought a scope online.

Of course, I do not plan to buy any scopes for the reminder of my shooting days, and I am happy about that because for the simple average shooter like me, the scope world is totally nuts and unaffordable. I can remember the days of the Leupold VX 2's which were very good quality at a reasonable price with a simple reticle design. Their 4 x12 is one of the most effective hunting scopes I ever use. The upgrade to the VX3 was excellent to then things went sideways.

Everyone loves to bash Vortex. But my experience has been great. I have 4 Vortex scopes. My most recent is Golden Eagle 10-60x52. F Class scores got much better. No, it's not a Nightforce, March, etc. But it's plenty good enough out to 1000yds.
It annoys me that so many of you bash Vortex without ever owning/shooting one.

On the flip side, when I had a NF issue, all they did was deny the scope had an issue.

They blamed my scope base .... on a Surgeon 591.

It would be easy for all of those top shelf scope manufacturers to have a Vortex-Like warranty if their scopes never broke. They'd be out almost nothing.

It's not bashing, it's experience (friend) 3 Vortex returned in 6 months....2 in the last month. All 5-25 PSTs.

Your scope is made in Japan and very decent…that’s about 1% (or less) Vortex’s sales…. Generally, the Vortex bashers have experienced their ‘wonderful’ customer service…because they needed to…multiple times….just my experience

I lost a windage cap on a Razor LHT and got a new one in 3 days. I lost the part on a NF finger that attaches to the rail. They asked me to send a Pic of the one I had. I did and was told it wasn't a NF ring. IT WAS !

All mechanical things can fail, at least Vortex stands behind it. And I'm n

I have been down the scope road, first with Vortex, then a run of Black Hound followed by Athlon scopes.
I'm now in the Arken phase of my life. I think todays scopes from the aforementioned list offer a lot for the price. I really like the Black Hound for a hunting scope and those Arken's are hard to beat for long range steel.

Yup lots of people love to bash Vortex and they were probably crossfire owners who don’t know Vortex makes scopes from those couple hundred dollar scopes up to multi thousand dollar scopes that hang with anything.

I have used Vortex scopes for about 13 years now and the only issue I had was with the first run of AMGs that they called back for a turret issue. Everything else from Strike Eagles and up has performed great and never had to go back. Good to know if I accidentally damaged them they stand behind it though. I know some cry about that and say that the company shouldn’t take care of the customer’s damage and it’s true but that is what sets Vortex apart. They do care and will help you. They are a very good company.

Not sure how many people know this, just a little history. They started as a small company selling other companies spotting scopes and binoculars to bird watchers. Then decided to create their own brand of optics. It has grown massively into a large respectable company in the past 15 years.

Not about Vortex, but just sold my last Nightforce
scope last week. Sounds like Vortex has a great warranty, Nightforce does not. Seen to many friends treated poorly with NF scope issues. Good riddance. Onto to next brand. Just not sure which one that will be. Vortex may not be the best scope, but their warranty surely is.
