Volume of fluid for single chamber in a flush system

How much fluid does it take to cut a chamber with a flush system?
I only chamber my own but am considering a pumpless pressurized tank setup. Mostly just to be nice to my reamers.
I have a 3 gallon-ish metal freon tank i could easily convert. Would 3 gallons be enough if i had a solenoid switch to stop flow when not needing it?

What kind of pressure? what kind of flow? How long do expect to ream? How do you refill the tank? Seems kind of messy to me. But, maybe it could work.

I use a 5 gal bucket as my holding tank, but it has a return line and I use a pump. So I don't have any idea of how much fluid I'm actually using because its continuously cycling. My setup is basically the same as Pat fulghum in the picture above but I used a 5gal bucker from home depot. I mounted it all on a cart so I can move it around.

Well I guess I will just have to give it a try and see. I only do a handful of barrels a year. So saving a few hundred bucks vs a little extra time.

Just FYI... I do think Danny's pic does show a key design feature... notice that the intake to the pump is above the bottom of the reservoir.

I would be extremely interested in the connection(s) at the bbl.
Pix, parts list, mounting info. Very interested.
If you consider this is a hijack Shawnba67, please advise and I'll move it.

I use a small tank with a 1/8th HP 220v sump. Pump Mobil 767 with some ATF. Barrel union is a Gretan unit. Used 4 gallon of oil and 4 quarts of ATF. Seems to work great...just did one barrel with it so far...

I just use a Deublin rotary union and a short piece of vinyl tubing:

If you glue those magnets onto the bottom of the pan you can just wipe the chips out

2CD7BF06-D787-4D37-B9BC-B2527B813839.jpeg i got one of these that has 1/4npt thread and i just tap the muzzle end. Its a deublin. You can get them off ebay reasonably cheap from surplus supply people.

Mine uses a simple air tool swivel. Super light and no need to support it with a bracket.

How much do those Deublins weigh? I had one and it was all brass...it was pretty heavy.

I have the same interests!
Plus I would like model numbers on the rotory unions. Guys always say cheap in ebay and I look and theres 300 to choose from, all in what might as well be a foriegn language to me!!! Thanks

Are the seals "safe" for petroleum fuels/oils in all Deublin unions- or are there specific models?

I used to need special buna rubber impellers in my diesels' oil change pumps because fuel oils would soften and melt plain rubber impellers. I'm going to use cutting oil, not water based coolant...
