virgin lake city brass fire forming

Don’t mean to hijack thread but I used virgin Lake City for forming my 20 cal wildcat and loved it. Till I ran out. If anyone would have a lead on 300-500 pieces of virgin 223 brass I would greatly appreciate it!
The operations management contract for the Lake City ammo plant changed hands since the last time they offered any virgin 556 brass to the public, and that was something like 2017 or 2018 or so.

With the current political winds, I gave up waiting for fresh deliveries.

No harm in asking around or watching the boards in case somebody decides to unload some... But... the point of my post is that you may want to cover your bets and try a little of the Starline 556 version and see what you think. For bolt guns, this isn't as critical, but for AR this stuff makes a big difference if you plan to shoot it more than once.

Just keep in mind they (Starline) sell a 223 version and a 556 version, and some retailers don't understand there is a difference so of some their adds don't differentiate. (The 556 version is a very good copy of Mil-Spec but the 223 is more like commercial, with the difference being the heat treatment of the heads.)

Starline rotates their production and offers direct sales every so often, and they don't mark it way up either. If you see their color code showing backorder status, that is the time to place the order and it will show up fairly soon after. Don't stall cause it gets taken up fast and then you will wait for the next rotation.

I purchased 1000 virgin LC brass in 5.56 and some 308 at the same time ...from Graf & Sons, it was really cheap and you didn't have to swage primer pockets...good stuff....I only shoot ARs in 5.56, all LC brass except for some range pickup...don't own a 223 bolt...I go to the 222 there. So LC is cheap expendable and accurate enough for my needs shot 11 rds into .570" with Shilen barreled AR, this LC brass W 748, & Nosler BT. I load it on a Dillon progressive most of tbe time...and the Proof barreled 308 AR is capable of shooting 5 shot groups well under .5" with even primed LC brass with crimped in Mi spec primer.
Bought a thousand of those. Did a little experiment with those 308 military primed LC brass against Lapua 308 brass with 225 ELDM, same powder charge and a fairly hot load. The only difference was .1" in group size favoring Lapua slightly, and about 15 fps in velocity higher for LC brass. The LC brass was new, military primed, from pull downs, the Lapua was already fireformed to my chamber...all randomly loaded nothing but powder charge weighed.
For me a magazine full of LC brass is normal, and your "in the field" misses can't be blamed on the LC brass, but I tend to use a lot of Lapua brass in target rifles, for the slight edge it might provide...physically and/ or mentally.
