Virgin 6br Lapua brass

Just wondering if you load virgin brass differently the first time. Does it need fire forming or can I load like I would for competition? A little more info for you: all brass is neck turned to about .012-.013(100% clean-up), full length resized w/ honed neck to .265
29.6 grains RL15
105vld Berger .020 off lands
CCI 450
2800 FPS
Hope this makes sense ??? ???
Thanks
Scott

sbrabec,

I will load the same load as my match loads, but not shoot them as records rounds.

Scott, I have found that the older your brass gets the more you think you need to do with it to make it shoot good. In practice sometimes new brass with only a neck deburing out performs my fireformed cases. The next day my 15+ shot cases out shoot once fire foremed brass. I hope you get my meaning. It's more a state of mind! And yes that is not the popular stance here.

I FLS all the brass - it's all I have. Compared to a 25-06 Ruger factory chamber it feels like I'm doing nothing to the 6br. Same goes for fired brass. It's a Forster die.

I load mine somewhat differently. I will load a batch of brass up until i see pressure signs with a given bullet/powder/primer. then i will back off an find the "node." then, when i get new brass, i will load it to this load--which is not max, and will not overwork the brass on the first firing. my brass will last a long time without loose primer pockets. then i have fire formed brass and segregate accordingly.
