An excellent number of shooters competed in the 1st annual South Dakota State 600 Yard Championship. At over 110° and little or no breeze, conditions were good for either breaking a record or torching a barrel.
Jerry Simison in his first attempt at 600 yard competition managed to break the course Light Gun score aggregate with a 199. He did this on the way to taking Light Gun Score and also finishing 4th overall in Light Gun. He then went on to take Heavy Gun Group and overall. Jerry was the 2-Gun score leader.
David Powers turned in some tiny groups. One of which broke the range Light Gun group. It measured 1.270". He also managed to score well in Heavy Gun and finished second.
Congratualtions go out to James Salwei. His solid scores and groups in both classed earned him 1st place overall in Light Gun, 3rd place overall in Heavy Gun and 1st place overall in 2-Gun group.
