varmint mobile ??

Have the above Tacoma as Toby describes. Mine is a 2011. I thought my mileage was out of line, but looks to be the same as yours. Speeds over 75 and mileage goes down. WTH, were in a hurry to get there! Take it easy on the way home, lol.
My boy complaint on my Tacoma is the back seat, at least the 2011. Dunno if they have changed them. Bench folds forward, back folds down. A decent flat spot to put stuff. I am tempted to take them clear out to see if that gives me any more room.

i had a jeep cherokee in the late 90's good vehicle served me well. this time around looking for good fuel mileage. hoping to get in the 30mpg range, i get around 33mpg on my wife's forster, looking for some thoughts on the Subaru outback and the Honda CRV mainly.

A friend just bought a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. I looked up the specs on the factory website. MPG 19 city 28 highways. Really bad for a small vehicle. My Corolla 28 & 38.

That Jeep is likely AWD and for sure has a higher profile. 28 mpg on the highway is great for a SUV.

My huntin rig is 1986 Ford Bronco 11. 5 speed stick, lock out hubs, heavy front bumper with 8500 lb Ramsay winch. Painted with bed liner paint (light brown). I carry 100 feet of chain, 25' tow strap, high lift jack, shovel, Stihl chain saw, axe, hatchet, Swede saw, tire chains, and hand tools and extra oil. I have used all of them at one time or another. This is my third Bronco 11, and I will never be without one. The turning radius is unbeatable. I plan on buying a new Ford Ranger when they come out this winter. Barlow
WOW!
thats one hell of a varmint machine. I'd be scared if i saw that coming thru the woods...

going to be shopping for a new car shortly, and use it for varmint hunting, one thing i am looking for in the vehicle is ground clearance and cargo space with the rear seats folded down, and fuel economy, had a toyota Tacoma in mind, but no use for a truck, i bough my wife a new 2016 Subaru Forster and it is OK, but i had either the Subaru Outback in mind or the Honda CRV, leaning towards the Honda CRV, seems to have more room that the Outback and more HP, any thoughts on what i am after.

My daily driver is a 2006 Tacoma extended cab 4L 6speed. Nice driver hard to get stuck in if it has good rubber. But my hunting rig is ( drum roll ) a 1987 Suzuki Samurai soft top. It has my choice of off road gear and tires. In the summer I take the top off and put a sheet of 3/4" plywood cut to fit between the windshield frame and roll bar with a slingshot rest bolted on top, back seat is out and there are Kolpin ABS gun scabbards bolted to the roll bar supports. You just pull in a field, jump in the back and get out the spotting scope. Anyway whatever you decide on, get something with lots of flat hood and fender area to work off of when you are set up.

i thought i'd chime in again. so far it looks like i am going to go for 2019 Forester, direct FI, seats fold flat and a new body style and a few other improvements.
