Varmint bullet cross sections... Hmmm

I'm of the opinion the TNT line is the best budget ( ~ 10 cents per) small colony varmint bullet out there currently for 6mm and 22 cal, accuracy and airtime. Just keep the RPM's below about 290-300K. The 223AI N133 and the 50TNT are a hummer hammer.

BTW I've shot the 6mm 58zmax and vmax same load same rifle and the zmax doesn't have quite the 'oomph' the vmax does especially at lower velocities. Gotta be the lead alloy and/or jacket. They were sold cheap for a reason, had to have cost less to make.

One thing the Nosler BT-V is good for over others is more double/triples on adult sized PD's.

Some time ago I ran into one lot of 40 VMax .204's that seemed to be like "controlled expansion" at 3750 fps - I bought these at Cabello's for $5 - $7 each. Not a good bargain, they zipped through prairie dogs at all ranges - "Gotta be the lead alloy and/or jacket. They were sold cheap for a reason" ?

223a seating depth and charge grid with 50 tnts
Not bad. Some tricky conditions. They shoot good. I'm not sure they shoot better than Varmegedoons yet.

Tiny groups in tune fur sure but there are some fliers now and again. Real good overall. 20190504_180510.jpg 20190504_180437.jpg

Seems like I read somewhere the Zmax had amp jackets but that may be misinformation. I guess it dosent matter since they have been discontinued.

The 50 TNT out of my 223a at 3720 was very impressive on good hits. Lots of fillets, and sometimes 10 foot launches. I had more than half a dozen hits from 325-350. For 200 rounds fired from the front of a Polaris I was very happy. The TNT really shot FLAT too. I did not have to change my hold very much.

David was shooting his AR15 with a suppressor :)

Sounds impressive to me . I have only hunted our big fat woodchucks here in NE NY ,would love to have the action you experienced .

How did David do with the AR ? Suppressed AR must be a treat to use,for the shooter and anyone near.

He was clearing 4 and 5 at a time. NOT FAIR!!! The only problem is that it spits gasses in my face shooting to his left. :(
