varmagedon bullets

hi guys, just a quick one ,how do you all rate the hollow point version of these bullets as i hear good and bad reports..

I have been using the 62gr.hollow points in a 1/9 twist .223 with great results in the accuracy dept. I have yet to shoot anything other than paper with them so I can't tell you how they perform on game.

My nephew shoots the 55hp ones in a 6ppc, shoots in the ones and the few hogs shot they were jelly bags.

The 55gr with Benchmark is my go to groundhog load for my 223. I've tried quite a few others but luckily found these to shoot the best since they are one of the cheaper varmint bullets.

Keep in mind, every rifle shoots differently....

I tried a box of factory varmagedon off the shelf rounds in my Savage 223 1/19. (55 grain I think) They were the hollowpoints, not the poly tipped.

They ended up being one of the worst I've ever tried. Couldn't get anything less than 3" group at 100 yards with these rounds. (and I know the gun will shoot 1" or less with factory rounds)

I was very surprised with this, as Nosler has been a respected ammo manufacturer for years.

cheers guys.like with all bullets i think some barrels like them and some don't...my remy shoots them brilliant around half inch or less at 110 yards, not tried them on varmint yet but i can tell they will explode by the noise they make when hitting the ground
.

My 223 M&P likes them a lot, not quite as accurate as a V-max but very good under 200 yds and great for letting the grandkids plink.

I shot 100 rds thru my 22-250ai as "fireforming" loads. These were factory Nosler 22-250 loaded with 55 grain FBHP (dogtowns) Cost me 20$ per 20rds. the Custom brass was worth that.... Squirrels are out in No. California. only shot 650 rds in 2 days (mostly .204 ruger with 32 grain Nosler Lead free) last pic is 2 squirrels. Those bullets are 1/2moa in fireforming loads! Most were in smaller chunks and pieces...very accurate and yes I would buy them in a heartbeat. People who have shot P-Dogs have 1/2 the fun we do shooting as the rd count is high and constant. In a good dogtown they (p-dogs) get educated real quick but ground squirrels (squeaks/rats) are STUPID like a day old politician....lol

The .224 60gr Varmagedons are amazingly accurate in my Mossberg MVP. Shot a .3" group (3shot) at 100 with them, prone from a bipod. And that was out of a factory rifle! Haven't had a chance to shoot them at game yet.

Saw tonight that they make these in a 30 cal 110gr version got a little excited since a friend has a couple Richard Franklin style varminators. Excitement quickly faded once I saw that the tactiards are all over them loading them in the 300 black out gi Joe flavor of the week crap rifle meaning they will be unavailable for the next 9 months...

What is the difference between the varmegeddon and the varmint grenades?

Varmageddons come in two flavors - a hollow point and a poly tip - both have standard pure lead cores and thin jackets, like V-Maxs and BltzKings. And they are about 8 to 10 cents each cheaper than the V-Max and BlitzKings, and shoot better than their price should allow.

The varmint grenades have a powdered tin/copper core that is compressed into the jacket, and they have a large hollow point. They are supposed to come apart into powdered metal when they hit.

They are very light for their length, and have very low BC's compared with what we are used to, in mid weight varmint bullets, and they may not stabilize in standard 14" twist barrels.

They can be used in the California "No Lead" zones.

I didnt realize we were talking about two different companys. Ooop's I get the booby prize for that statement. Thanks for the imfo though as I was going to sell them but now maybe I will try the barnes in a .223.
