Varget replacement

I have a couple of good loads for 600 yds. using 8208 but they haven't worked well at 1,000. I think the powder may be a touch too fast, but I haven't tried any of it lately. Although I never shot it across a chronograph some of the later 8208 I bought seemed a little slower than the first I bought so it might work a little better now in the longer barrels. But, can't get any 8208 either.

I have access to some VV N540. Would that work well for heavier bullets in 6 BR?

4064 ruled the Match Rifle category at Camp Pendleton in 308 before Varget. Back then, we had several Palma members and record holders ALL used 4064. Then all switched to Varget over the course of a year or two. So for my money, 4064 is the proven alternative that will not be a mistake. Its just more temp sensitive, so keep that in mind.
