The wait is over. We are going to shoot some clays!

After missing the 2020 shootout and also waiting for the covid to slack off just a bit, we are going to shoot the 2021 match on June 19, 2021.
If you would like to shoot in the oldest 400 yard clay shoot around, now is the time to get your entry sent in. No matter how rusty you have gotten, you will be miles ahead of those who are sitting at home. For close to the most fun you can have with your clothes on, get your entry in and come join us on June 19. You will get to meet, visit with, and shoot with the nicest bunch of folks around.

Attached are the entry form and shoot information for the 400 yard clay match.

If you have any questions that I might be able to answer, leave me a comment here or send email to dukelcr@gmail.com

See you at the range.

Steve, looks like you moved a long ways away. The freezer is the other event we do here. Shoot in the middle of January no matter what the weather, The 200 yard score target shot at 300 yards will humble you for sure.
The 400 yard clays shoot was conceived as a sort of varmint shoot environment with a minimum of equipment rules and muzzle brakes have always been part of the game. Brakes are one of those things that some wont shoot with and some wont shoot without. We just deal with them.
Personal wind flags are another of those contentious items. They are not allowed since as I said, the game was seen as trying to approximate a varmint shoot. Some purist accuracy shooters wont try the game because they cant set up their own flags. Some of us watch the tree leaves, the grass, and the few range flags and deal with what mother nature tosses at us.

Can't be everything for everyone and that's ok. We just try to have fun, burn a little powder, eat well, visit with friends, and go home happy.
