USPS Gun Ban unconstitutional, FL U.S. Judge rules

In NC they would NOT let me mail a gun .
Many of the local post office managers also think it is against the law for citizens to take pictures inside of post offices. That is despite their own Poster 7 and a 2018 memo from DHS confirming that this activity is legal.

Some of the people that work in our post offices do well to operate a money order machine, can't expect them to actually know the regulations.

You can ship handgun parts. I just did a couple of months ago.

Everyone's interpretation of the law is different. Some may think taking the grips off makes it gun parts....;););)
It is all fun and games when you try to "trick the system" and mail those handgun parts, one of which may carry a serial number and is a firearm even with no other parts on it, then get caught.

And I'm NOT "just saying".

You can use the USPS to mail long guns to a FFL Dealer. At one local PO I was told only Officers in the US Army can mail a firearm. I went to another PO, told the clerk what I was doing and there was no problem.
Right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
Sounds like the Biden administration.

Sign on the door "No Firearms"? They don't need my business or my $$$!! :D

Something to think about here, seriously.

1) In Texas you can legally carry a firearm into a Bank.
2) The Post Office had a ban on firearms on all property (to include the parking lot) which is an exception that even public schools (like elementary schools) are not afforded.

The rule here is a premises rule, and by law parking lots, side walks, parking garages etc are not a premise.

So you can have a firearm inside a bank. You can have a firearm while sitting 10 feet from the door of an elementary school. But the USPS got some kind of special treatment? This was needed a long time ago.

My Ex FIL worked at a Post Office back in the early 50's. He said everyone who worked in the building was issued a handgun for protection while at work.
The PO he worked in issued surplus S&W revolvers chambered in 45ACP.
As the REAL American Express says "Concealed Carry. It's accepted EVERYWHERE." ;)

I hope it costs them millions for trying this stunt. Biden just wont quit.

I have stopped in the post numerous times while inadvertently carrying my handgun. Simply put, I so used to carrying that I forget I have it at times. I have been carrying since I entered the police department in 1958. It's like putting on my shoes when I go out of the house. Guess I am going to have to be more careful now. You can bet one of his fellow employees made a complaint.

When I was a youngster, the mail men carried a revolver in a belt holster and wore a badge. Of course they were not police and had no arrest powers.

Anybody ever heard the term "CONCEALED CARRY"???
Don't ask, don't tell. ;)

I often debate this internally....
If I carry in a no carry zone and am forced to use my weapon to save lives, I go to jail. If I don't carry, more lives may be lost but I don't go to jail, if I survive. It is maddening!

I was dropping off some packages a couple days ago and noticed the "no gun" signs were gone.

Haven't seen signage in my area get removed, yet.

Myself, I'd prefer not to be the legal test case on this point. At the moment, it's a lone District Court judge's ruling. I figure I'll await the all-but-inevitable appeal to SCOTUS. If "the Robes" uphold, then that pretty much settles it.
