I am sure yhe usps S U C K S !111

I live 40 miles north of Kansas City, placed an order with Midway 11/11, it was picked up 11/12.
It went to St. Louis, then to Kenosha, WI, then Oak Creek, WI, finally to KC on 11/15, so it made good time.
It stalled 3 days in KC till 11/18, now tracking only say *in transit, will be later than expected*.
No kidding. I had that figured out when it didn't arrive Monday like they said it would.
I could drive to Colombia, MO in a few hours, but I wouldn't go through Wisconsin and St. Louis either.

Update....
It left Iowa and came back to Iowa 30 minutes later.

Yeah, I’ve had 3 packages hung up in the last 2 months. All three delivered late, one being a week and a half. Love it when it says moving thru network and it doesn’t move at all for several days. USPS tracking is the worse and the way hubs are set up now your package goes all over the place.. Press USPS on getting your money back due to poor service and they laugh at you. The only guarantee in the shipping business is that the customer will be ignored. But they all do make it really easy to contact them ( Sarcasm )..

Yep, all advertise a shipping time. And all have the fine print at the bottom that says, 'well, maybe it will get there on time'

When we had to have something on time, we sent it by company courier (very expensive) or carried it ourselves. Either as checked baggage or drive a company vehicle. But, sometimes even that got messed up due to weather on the roads or airline problems.

It used to take just a couple days to get mail from either side of the river to the other side in SoDak. Now it takes an entire week. Apparently our mail now have to go out of state through ND and MT then back in state

Good luck. I have package that left the Birmingham, AL distribution center in July and has not made it to the destination yet. nobody can tell me where it might be.

Sounds about right. I was sending a stock from central NC to northern GA, which is about a 6 hour drive, and it took 16 days USPS Priority, which I do t think it was for them.

Stock left and went to Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, town outside Atlanta and then finally made it there. It disappeared for a while but calls to USPS found it. Ship at your own risk these days.

The major package movement firms (UPS, FEDEX, USPS) all follow a similar model. They use a hub and spoke system in which packages come to a central location, get put in a container, and sent to the next center or hub. This can produce some odd looking routes on a good day. If a package gets put in the wrong trailer, it can take a while for the mistake to get corrected.
Those trailers all get loaded by humans. None of these people intend to misdirect your package, but human errors happen.
I'm a retired UPSer. I was one of those guys who designed the movement networks.
I loaded and unloaded a lot of those trailers and air transport containers during peak seasons throughout the country. We're now in the peak delivery season.
Nobody likes to hear about routing errors, but they are in fact errors. And I get peeved at all the delivery firms like everybody else.
Good luck!
