Using Sinclair 3rd Gen Bipod for F-Class

http://www.sinclairintl.com/shooting-rests-bipods/bipods/monopods/bipods-adapters/sinclair-3rd-generation-f-class-bipod-prod44699.aspx

Is there any advantages/disadvantages to using this over a standard front rest like a Bald Eagle Cast Iron front rest?

The only thing I can think of is it is easier to maneuver and carry around. I was thinking of getting this so when I am at the range, if i am lazy, I can use this to shoot or practice rather than bringing the 20 lb boat anchor rest.

You can shoot a bipod in F-Open with any caliber or also when shooting .223 or .308 rifles that are over weight will put you in Open class. I shot my 284 Shehane very well off the bipod one year while waiting for my .308 barrel to be finished. It is less gear to haul to the line.

Since you asked the question, the reasonable assumption is that you are not competing, therefore just shooting for fun. You already know the big advantage of the bipod, the main disadvantage is that you have to buy it. You already know the advantages/disadvantages of the rest and it's already paid for.
