Using 8208 xbr in 22-250 with short barrel

Is anyone using 8208 xbr in their 22-250? Hodgdon lists it in their data with the full range of bullet weights, but the pressure is quite a bit more than Varget or H4895. I am going to try some 64g Bergers and hodgdon's info for the 63 Sierra is right with Berger supplied quickload info. This is going to be for a 22" barrel and I thought maybe the quicker burn rate might save some velocity as compared to Varget or H4895 that I use in my other 22-250s. I have tried the 8208 in 223 and found that it performs better with bullets 55g and under as velocity is lost with heavier bullets.

My results are with an OAL of 2.452" for 50 Vmax with a .020 jump and 2.507 for 64 Berger with a .010 jump. This with Win brass prepped and necks cleaned up. CCI 200 primers. Loaded with Rcbs chargemaster, Forster Coax, and forster seating die, RCBS competition FL size die. Shooting in a Tikka T3 lite which has a 22" barrel with 14 twist.

50 Vmax with 37.6 Varget 3747 Avg max All giving 1/2" @ 100yd accuracy
50 Vmax with 36.5 IMR 8208 xbr 3729 avg max
All giving me a headache trying to 64 berger with 34.9 Varget 3353 avg max figure out where the ES of 40fps
64 berger with 34 Imr 8208 xbr 3370 avg max or more is coming from.

Could keep going up, have not seen pressure signs yet. I don't really understand why I haven't as these loads are over any info I can find. I wonder if I don't have a weak jug of Varget.

I don't see much advantage of one powder over the other so I am going to stick with Varget since I have more on hand. I decided to back things down to 36.7 Varget with the 50 V max for 3660 fps and 34.7 Varget with the 64 berger for around 3310 fps. So far out of about 80 of the 64's, they are all making a nice round hole out at 200 yds down to 50 degrees anyway. Supposed to get down to around 35 tonight so I'm gonna try to get out early and see how they do then. I wouldn't be messing with them in this rifle but I had some loaded up for another rifle I got rid of and used them for break in and they shot good so I kept trying. This is going to be my new calling rifle. Put a 4.5-14x40 VX3 with CDS turret on it. Need to get some things verified and get my 2 "free" turrets ordered. Now if the coyotes will just cooperate.

It was 36 degrees this morning when I got out. Standing in frost in the shade. First 5 shots out of a clean barrel with the 64 bergers went in straight and true. 3 out of the 5 grouped at 1" with 1/2" of vertical at 300 yds. Didn't have a real good target set out, the cross hairs covered everything so there was a little guessing game with where to hold. Total group was 3 1/2". 50 V Max was Also 3 1/2" with 4 of them going into a 1 1/4" group.
