IMR 8208 vs 8208 XBR

IMR-8208 XBR is made by ADI and LT-32 is made by GD in Canada. LT-32 is supposed to be an exact copy of the T-32, made on the same machinery and the same formula. 8208 XBR is not the same as IMR8208 produced by IMR. LT-30 is simply a faster lot of LT-32

I'm pretty sure they're the same damn thing. So...yes.

wow there is a lot of bs floating around on this thread. why not just ask lou about the original new imr 8208.
seeing how he paid for it, and i had an order in for some..and then the maker backed out of the deal and marketed the product themselves.

The April 2010 issue of Handloader Magazine (#265) profiled IMR 8208 XBR powder. It is NOT the same as the original, takedown 8208 powder. However, a snippet from the profile:

"Fans of the .22-250 Remington are going to like IMR-8208 XBR. With bullet weights up to 52 grains, no powder produces higher velocity."

If the OP will work up a new load, he will likely be very satisfied with 8208 XBR in his .22-250.

Also, LT-30 isn't merely selected from faster lots of LT-32. The two powders are nearly identical. But LT-30 has a slightly different deterrent coating, that gives it that touch of extra speed, versus its earlier cousin.
