Useing the same stock with 2 different actions

Is it possible to interchange 2 actions with 1 stock? I have a Mcmillan stock on an xp-100 that is bedded from the recoil lug on back. Couldn't I just drop another xp action in this stock and it would be fine? Kind of like what an HS Precision stock does. It is aluminum pillar beded and glass bedded. If the barrel is free floated on both would it matter? Thanks in advance for your answers.

This works with my Savage BR and LRPV stocks

The chances are slim that they would be a 100% exact fit because factory tolerances will never be the same from one action to the other. Even the HS stocks need to be skim bedded for a exact fit...
One size does not fit all if your looking for 100% fit.....

Both actions seem to shoot just fine in the one stock, if I could only find an old style right hand McMillan xp-100 stock I'd be in business. Please let me hear more opinions!

+1 on Preacher. Better option in my opinion would be to use the same action & have both barrels head spaced to the same bolt , simply switching barrels.

If money wasn't an obstruction, I would say that having one stock with a bedding V-Block would be the way to go. You could talk to John Whidden and see if he can make a V-Block for your XP actions. Or if you wanted to go another route, Barnard actions with the V-Block, or Remington actions with a V-Block. Or well use a V-Block.
