Interchange action's in pillar bedded stock?

Can you take a aluminum pillar, devcon bedded stock and put a different action in it? Both would be Rem 700 with factory recoil lugs. The reason I ask is I've bedded a .223 for my son but it's to short for me to shoot and would like to put it in my bedded stock to do load testing. thanks all

Even with a small dimension change with the receivers the pillars will still support the action although it may not touch the bedding 100%...

John Whidden makes an aluminum V-bedding block that can be bedded into your stock that is made just for this type of application. It's difficult to say how switching a barreled action in and out of different bedded stocks will work. Some guns seem very sensitive to bedding issues and some guns don't seem to care. A V-block like the one from Whidden Gunworks or the Choate stocks work very well. It takes bedding out of the equation and allows you to switch barreled actions from stock to stock very easily and without worrrying about damaging the bedding.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I'll just have to try it and see what the results are.
