US Halts The Exports of Civilian Firearms For 90 Days

Does this stop me from hunting overseas? Does this stop a hunter in Europe/Africa from buying a USA made rifle or ammo?

Why would this stop you from hunting overseas?…Nor would it stop sales outside of US. availability yes..buying or hunting no.

Seems like it only stops the export of firearms for resale. You can still take your firearm hunting in a foreign country.

Due to the eagle eyes identifying terrorist with new USA rifles and sighting equipment......

On line articles don't have much information. I searched the US Department of Commerce website, can't find anything related to this. Is it real? Just rumors? The media has been wrong before.

I think the gov't is just pissed they can't waste our money fast enough so they want to stop what they consider non essential sales overseas and buy everything up to send it to Israel and Ukraine... probably mostly Ukraine... maybe some to the IRS.

What it means is the governement is a jealous god. It wants all the control, all the decisions, and it doesn't like competition.

Meanwhile it ignores the reality of cartel invasion, arms and drug and human trafficking into our own country. It is unhappy with so called bad arms dealers that deal with interests that are not part of its plan.

The security effect this will have can be compared to dropping a straight pin in an amplified room, you still couldn't hear it bounce on the floor. Why is a bad guy in another country going to pay top dollar for a US made weapon exported for resale in their country 10 times the price when they can get cheap AK47's and US made weapons cheap from the Taliban?!?!?

Most likely it is going to prevent some US made weapons from reaching the hands of Good Guys to defend themselves with.

I don't know how you'd get arms or ammo out of the country without going through the Dept. of Commerce. You have to have a very ligit reason to get an export license. And, packages do get inspected before being loaded on a plane or ship. It's just more BS. Anything to slow down or bring to a stop legal arms trade. Just guessing here, but I think most arms/ammo exports would be to Europe. Even though there are strict laws there, many other places are even stricter. And it's not like the country receiving goods from outside of its country isn't inspecting. Ship arms or ammo out of the US without an export license and see what happens.

I just saw this:
A bill introduced in the New York State Assembly aims to stop the spread of ghost guns by making it necessary for anyone buying a 3D printer to undergo a criminal background check, which could take as long as 15 days. Opponents argue that the proposal would not effectively prevent ghost gun manufacturing, but it would have a chilling effect on kids who use 3D printers to learn and makers who use them for everything from appliance repair to robot building.
Pretty soon, we’re going to need a background check to buy gasoline!
