UPS Acct

I'm not an FFL and have sold many firearms and shipped them all through UPS. I go to Ship-My-Gun for the shipping label. It may cost a little more, but I've had ZERO issues with my shipping.

When Ship-My-Gun sends me the shipping label, they also send a letter with a UPS contact name and phone number in case UPS questions the shipment. I have not had to use the letter so far. If you call Ship-My-Gun, 859-559-4613, and ask for the UPS contact name and number this may help you.

When I take my firearm to UPS for shipping, I never tell them what's in the box and they never ask. Use a PLAIN box with no markings at all of what could be in it.

Inside the box, I always place an Apple Air Tag. When the receiving FFL receives the package, they will see my shipping documents. Among the documents is a self addressed stamped envelope. When it's dropped in the mail, I get my Air Tag back.
Very good, Thank you!

So how much does it end up being to ship a rifle cross country?
It all depends on shipping weight, size of box, etc, etc. Just like when sending a package thru UPS. You can check it out for a price quote and see what it cost.

Apparently, Fedex has adopted the UPS policy in total. So, you have to hav an account and a signed compliance agreement. It also appears that once you get that account, you have to ship adult signature req'd same as UPS.

"FedEx does not ship firearm parts from non-Federal Firearms License (FFL) holders. According to their policies, only FFL holders can ship firearms and their parts with FedEx after obtaining approval from the company. Non-FFL individuals are prohibited from shipping firearms or firearm parts with FedEx. This policy applies to both FedEx Express and FedEx Ground services."

Of course, this makes sense. They are essentially one company at this point. Same as Home Depot and Lowes.

Honestly, this concerns me more than any stupid ATF rule.

The air tag is genius, a buddy has used them multiple times and every time I complain about shipping he reminds me I need to start using ship my guns.

I can’t remember which one it was (thinking FedEx) wanted me to commit to doing 50k in shipping a year to ship firearms. I also had UPS question a barrel…shipping is dumb.

@DR_2297

if you're an FFL and having trouble with the new regs - shoot me a PM and I'll give you all the details as to what you need so when you do get a SBR (small business rep) you'll know and understand the terminology, the reasons why they are doing what they are doing, and how it has worked out since they made the changes in August 2023

How do you get ahold of a SBR? I asked if there were account reps and our local driver told me no. This is for where I work, which isn't a huge company but it is not small either.
