Update on neck wall thickness gauges

Gents:

I have and insize neck thickness gauge. It is OK, but is a bit awkward to handle, as is the case for most mics. I picked up a Redding tool, but the spindle is rather flexible and makes it difficult to get a consistent reading.

I am looking at the Don Nielson neck checker from Kelbly. They are not cheap, so I am wondering what experience folks have had with the tool.

I have read the article on case neck tools, but it is hard to make an informed decision based on the limited information that is provided.

Other thoughts?

Thanks, Mike
