I don't bother much with the es till i find where it starts to shoot very small for a few 5 and 10 shot groups in a row with no vert. last year the ES was 3 with the 115's but now the 105H is doing very well but the the weather has not been that great for testing and it all starts soon very soon........jim
Oh how true!!
Wayne.

Frank, is that for 3 shots or 5? the print shows 3? maybe i'm missing something.....jim

Jim, thats for 3 shots over my Oehler 35P. Same charge weight (32.6)with CCI 400 primers had the best numbers as far as ES and SD as shown earlier in thread. Pretty much drove myself crazy on this load workup and i have alot of time in this rifle and load workups. Time to go have some fun with it now. :)

Forum Boss, I never saw 0 numbers either and i have owned this chrony for 15 years or so and probably have thousands of shots thru it.. I couldn't believe it my self. But after rereading it a few times and looking at target I feel I am done. Will load up 14 rounds of remaining brass with this load and sling them @ 500 yards and see what she does later this week.

Wayne, keep up the good work out west and I will report back after debut. :)

Re: My new Dasher load workup

Oh, I forgot to tell everyone that Quickload and my shooting partner who is way more computer savvy then me helped out greatly on this project. Quickload works and is well worth the money. I recommend it to any precision shooter.

Thanks Frank,

There's nothing far more satifiying when the end results come together.. If I can't make it shoot, I'll engineer it to shoot...

Re: My new Dasher load workup

Frank, That 0 es. is good but see what is next time out for at least 5 shots, three shot groups get you in the ball park ,but 5 and 10 tell you the whole story. I doubt if you will get the same reading two times in a row for two 5 shot groups, the best i had was ES of 8 for ten shots. They where shot as pairs and both groups where in the mid to low one's with RL-15. That is 5 barrels three different brands of barrels and three different receivers same load, same reamer and the same powder. I have a friend that has two Dashers that shoot small and yes it's the same load......jim

Re: My new Dasher load workup

Jim, sounds good, will get back out to range weather permitting this week and fire 14 rounds over chrony consecutively at 500 yards. I feel the load will hold up well. I'm pretty excited about the rifle and am glad I went into Dasher land.

Re: My new Dasher load workup

Frank,
I doubt you get those numbers again real soon either but I bet that load will be in the single digits or close anyway, I think I am at 7/3 with the last 10 shot group I ran my 6brx over the chrony with, after I got it down to something like 15/7 or so I played with seating depth until I dialed it in to single digit numbers.
Wayne.

P.S to have real world numbers you would have to put several hundred over the chrono and get a average from there,....who's going to do that?...

Re: My new Dasher load workup

Wayne, You better smile with those numbers, and Frank, Isn't it nice to have the speed and shoot that small. I will soon be starting we will see if the 105H is loaded for the next match.......jim

Jim,
I am smiling but I never put a whole lot of faith in a chronograph especially the cheap one I am using, the proff is on the target as they say ;)

Re: My new Dasher load workup

Wayne, spot on, the the numbers give you a warm fuzzy feeling and the target cold hard facts..........jim

Re: My new Dasher load workup

Update, finally debuted my Dasher at its first match since initial planning 11 months ago. Shot a 194 good for first place. At 300 yards it was a hammer, at 400 I could barely see the holes and at 500 I trusted my comeups and the rifle as i could not see any bullet holes whatsoever as mirage was pretty bad around 12 noon. Blue spot on 500 target was where I was holding off. Rifle just plain feels good. Thanks to everyone who has helped on this project and to all the guys i shoot with as everyone helps everyone and thats what its all about!

Frank

George, Berger 105 Hybrids @ .010 off lands, CCI 450 primers, and 32.6 grains H4895. This was the first time i had FL sized the brass and 2nd time i annealed the cases. (3 times fired) I firmly believe the annealing process is a huge help. The bullets seat like butter with excellent feel in my Wilson seating die. I am also running .001 neck tension with a loaded .266 diameter in a .268 chamber smithed by Dave Bruno.

I gotta try those Bergers.

Good shooting Frank you will have to shoot that gun at Beaver Valley, that's a killer group at 300. That 300 yard group woul be a 50 at Beaver Valley.
