Update: J. Lederer Barrel

I purchased a barrel from James Lederer, and have been waiting till I had a clean slate for my own chamber job. I am very happy to announce this barrel is a very straight example of any makers offering. The barrel indicated in very uniformly, from lands to grooves, maybe better than most. Very low runout on each end. Just to let folks know you certainly get what you pay for when buying a Lederer barrel.

Now I am going to try and get out and shoot soon, and will update again. I have this and a Brux, both freshly chambered to test. This is a long range 1 in 8" twist. 1.250" for 5" and tapers down to 1.1" @ 28" .237" bore.

I chambered both in my newest reamer and design an .080" long BR. The BRX is .100" long, I wanted a longer neck. I have 2 other barrels in this chambering and is showing ease of tuning for sure. Last time out with .236" Bartlein, shot a back to back 1.3" and 1.6" at 600. 32.2 RL15 and Berger 105VLD +.010" with CCI400`s

I will be watching this for how you like the round as much or more than the bbl,,would you say about half way between a 6BR and a Dasher??

I like the round a lot. I bought a hydroform die and had the option of 30 or 40 degree. I was told and reaffirmed that its easier to push a shoulder back if 30 to make a 40 in a Dasher die. I opted for the 30, and remembered how much luck I had shooting a BRX, I decided to jump back in, but knowing me, had to tweek the case for something I like better. The BRX is a .100" long 6BR, I had mine made to be an .080" long 6BR. Much nicer looking round in my eyes. It is super easy to tune too. You shoot Dasher loads, no problem. It is way more a Dasher than BR. You can use 6BR dies too.

2 6BR shooters here had me run my reamer in for the new case, one had 3 barrels. Another guy saw groups on a Saturday practice, called me and wanted what I did for the other guy!!!

I had pictures I showed junebug, and think he is going with this his next build.

I wish you the greatest success with hyroforming. My personal experience was a disaster. I ruined 300 pieces virgin Lapua 6mmBR brass hyroforming them to 6mm BRX. The heat in explosion forming has been much more successful for me.

Just finished another 150 and lost 3 to the dreaded crease on the shoulder angle. Those will blow out every time.

I can normally get 16-20 reloads out of a fire formed 6mm BRX. The first loading 30.5 gr Varget. The fire forming loads are accurate enough to shoot in matches of 600 yards or less. After fire forming I anneal and load with 32.2 grains of Varget. I chronograph to find am accuracy node between 3020 and 3080 fps. Loads will shoot twenty shot 100 yard groups under .4".
They will not need trimming until 6 or 7 loadings.

Nate I am just asking, how did you ruin 300 cases? Was the flaw so minute that you didn't see it till all 300 were ruined? Ive screwed up a half dozen or so and changed plans, but maybe Ive been lucky. This kinda post is about to scare me out experimenting.
