Unlimited Sighters / Pair Firing

Pardon my ignorance, but how are unlimited sighter shots taken with alternating shooters and when do the shooters go for record. What if one shooter decides to take more sighters than the other. This doesn't seem to work out with time restraints. Perhaps the Protocol for pair firing only uses two sighters per shooter. I understand the requirement is 45 seconds between each shooter? I would like to run one of my matches pair firing and need to know all I can to run one properly. Is there any information on line as to properly run a match using pair firing?

The time allotments, the differences in the types of matches, and the stages with unlimited or just two sighters are in the above rule books.
With unlimited sighters, the pullers just keep pulling and the score keepers just keep recording. When the shooters are both done with their sighters, they both go for record and the time limits begin.
If the time starts when both shooters go for record, how much time do both shooters have for sighters? Also for example one shooter shoots five sighters and is ready for record, and the other shooter would like to shoot five more, how does that work?

This is probably why it would be more common to have only two sighters when using this format, as noted by others above. Otherwise, it could make time keeping pretty complicated. I can imagine that having a few minutes blow-off period at the beginning of each relay on the first match of the day would take care of this and allow everyone to foul their barrels prior to the two sighters at the beginning of record shooting/time.

Pair fire is usually done at the end of the day..or on a separete day.. like Fri before
the main event of 600 or 1000 yds. ( With only 2 sighters )

Pair firing (fullbore) is typically two convertible sighters. Convert neither, both, or the second one only. For F-Class, there is often a blow-off period prior to the first match. For Sling, not so much.

Seems like a single time period for records and sighters would cure this as well as the want/need for more sighters. The shooter picks his own poison in the same timeframe. fwiw..
