Uniform Lapua 6 br primer pockets

Wondering if anyone is uniforming blue box primer pockets.I have looked at the pma tool and have read the old post saying it wasn’t necessary.For a non benchrest gun would you just tumble and shoot ,or tumble and clean?

I typically use a Sinclair Uniformer to clean my primer pockets after each firing. Lapua 6BR brass (formed to Dasher) is the first brass I’ve had w small primer pockets. After 4 firings, the uniformer still doesn’t reach the bottom of the pocket to clean them out.

I’ve read that the Lapua has .123 deep primer pockets and other brands are .120.

K&M markets an excellent line of primer pocket uniforming tools. Also good for cleaning off the carbon after depriming. They also market a high-quality flash hole uniforming tool to go with it.

Load them and go shooting. Forget the tumble and clean till they get formed to your chamber. The groups you get on the first firing may surprise you.

NorCal they are all formed to my chamber.Dasher chamber and loading for second time.Was curious if there was a consensus on 21st century,land m or pma as far as tools specific to Lapua pockets.Thanks

For the first firing, I would add a mandrel step to uniform neck tension.
For pockets, I use the 21st Century adjustable tool. Very, very nice.
- IMHO, the adjustment is key. No point in removing too much material by default. Lots vary and there is variance between the 6BR & 308 Palma cases out of the box. For now, I've settled on the minimum cut required to square the deepest case.
- FWIW, the 21st century priming tool is $$, but simply fantastic. A great addition to the bench. It is a hefty piece of functional reloading jewelry.
For cleaning, I use the Crocogator from Dewey. Quick and easy.
I have not tested with and without these steps, but my primer seating "seems" very consistent and my ES numbers are respectable.

Thanks .Think I will try 21st century as it can be used for large and small pockets.Using their expanders ,turning lathe and primer and all are excellent as is the customer service.
