6BR Lapua Brass, Uniform primer pockets and flash holes?

Hello All,
I am going with a Standard 6BR Chamber due to the excellent Lapua brass.

My qustions is, should I ream and uniform primer pockets and flash holes.

Jake

Ream pockets: Not necessary

Uniform Flash holes: In the past, this was not necessary. However, recent lots of Lapua 6BR brass have shown some occlusions--sort of a 1/4 moon sliver on one side of the flash hole. These should be punched out.

Should you ream the flash-holes? --Problem is that most of the reamer tools go too far. The spec on the small flash hole is 1.5 mm, about .059. Some of the tools will ream to .067 or even larger. We prefer to stick as close to .060 as possible. Once you start reaming, you'll should do all your cases the same. Measure the reaming tool before you do more than a few.

You can use an inexpensive "pin vise" with a .059-.060 bit to punch out the 1/4 moon slivers without increasing the diameter of the flash holes.
