Under Armor drops sponsership

How the hell does some girl losing her right to film her hubby while wearing under armour clothes turn into a gun rights issue?
I guess she can still wear her ua sports bra, but can't claim affiliation.

I was replying to the comment that sportsmen should boycott UA if they don't support us. and how we wont because we never stick together. I wasn't making it about gun rights.

In a turn of events and the bear had ate her husband with the spear sticking out from both sides, and had her in her ua fighting valiantly to free him, she may have been set up or life by ua. I would still woulda laughed though.

We all make choices, sign a sponsorship contract, most likely says in a more pc manner, don't do stupid shit, don't affiliate yourself with stupid goings on. I'm more apt to support a company that stands behind their principles than a company like nike and their tigger woods fiasco, being the best or top of the game doesn't let you be a tool and not suffer any consequences. Not remotely saying that is the case here.

Hmmm - certainly a diverse group here. My point to the OP was the fact that the man legally killed a bear, No matter what is was done with, and the company that makes millions selling camo to hunters, dropped his wife because of 4000 signatures from the anti hunting crowd. His wife makes a living killing critters on TV and they have never dropped her. I have never owned any UA stuff, don't watch her show, but I do support ethical hunting. I think the man took the bear in an ethical way and feel that UA should back them. I could give 2 sh#ts if they lost their sponsorship, just why it was done.
I have seen the division in the shooting/hunting sports drive us apart for years. Human nature I guess.

UA happens to be a major sponsor for many sports and sports players, to include shooting and archery.

Maybe he should have used a ball bat or a tennis racket. That would have been ok I guess.

Did you even read the article? He killed the bear in Alberta, CANADA where it was at the time perfectly LEGAL.

I read the article, and don't live in Canada. Nor does UA have their headquarters in Canada. Bow hunting is completely legal, using the legal draw weight and legal width broad head. A bow generates ample speed to "humanely" kill, via blood loss. The loss of blood is not painful. A spear does not generate enough oomph to "humanely" kill, and is going to create unnecessary pain. Hunting Elephants with a bow & arrow is also legal, but I seriously doubt you'll find a PH who will allow you to hunt an elephant with a spear.

I'll tell you what. Let somebody shoot you in the leg with a bow with any kind of head on the arrow and you report back to us on weather it hurts or not! dedogs

If you take a look at an assegai spearhead, you will see that it will certainly cause a lot of blood loss in short order. It is more likely to cut an artery in passge through than is any broadhead just due to it's width.
Having said that, this thread is supposedly about supporting another hunter, no matter what. Well, in this case, the "hunter appears to be a dickhead. Not so much because he used a spear to kill a baited bear; because he made a video of the kill and his poste-kill antics. Just because he is a hunter does not mean he is deserving of my support. The only thing we have in common is that we have both killed bears. The big difference is not the method used to do so. The big difference is that I didn't dance around like a fool then post it on the internet subsequent to the kill. WH

Personally I'm getting really tired about liberals deciding what we all do and accept. I'm not real sure what to do about it, but we're decades behind them in fighting back. The party of tolerance is anything but, and they think it's a one way street, their way.

If it doesn't hit bone and travels through, i'll feel the initial cut. After that, if it has sliced an artery, at some point, i'll bleed to death…. pain free. I can consistently put arrows into a very small group, with plenty of velocity. Throwing a spear from the shoulder to hit a target area is nothing more than hoping and wishing for the best outcome. UA is a multi dollar business with a great reputation. They aren't going to damage that reputation due to a couple of clowns with a few followers. The spear thrower should have saved the video to share with their family and friends. That bridge might have been repairable until someone decided to burn a UA product and post it also. They lost their sponsor due to stupidity. Get over it!

What I'm wondering now is if you have ever killed anything with a bow. I have. If one is lucky enough to have a pass through with a broad head in the lung /heart area the animal will USUALLY bleed out rather quickly. USUALLY. But what about a gut shot or an arrow that does not pass completely through because it hit a bone? While that animal is running with that broad-head in its body that broad-head is slicing through all kinds of stuff due to the leverage produced by the muscle mass on the entrance side of the wound. And I can assure you that hurts like HELL!

I'm a bowhunter, and have been for decades. A couple of recurves, but primarily longbows. How long does "hurt" last when you cut yourself? How long does the little pinch hurt when a needle is pushed into your skin? How long does an animal "hurt" when a bullet penetrates its skin, then moves off into the upper forty before it bleeds to death? Most of my bow kills have been complete pass throughs. Unfortunately, some have hit the shoulder, and destroyed my arrows. Use sharp broad heads, and practice long before hunting season. A poorly placed shot is on you!

Respecting the opinion of others when you do not agree with it is a valued trait. I will concede that a couple in their position ( public eye ) maybe should have made a phone call for advice before posting, especially in this PC society that we currently reside.
