I clean my muzzle brakes in my sonic cleaner. I put them in a mason jar and poke small holes in the lid. I only submerge them part way, with enough hoppe's or carb out to cover the brakes. I run them for several cycles and the water temp is about 80 Celsius.I've used a small chemistry beaker , hot water , a few drops of Lemmi-shine , and some Dawn to clean Handgun and Pieces from a rifle bolt that were grungy , to say the least .
Run the cycle a full thirty minutes . Rinse with hot water , and blow with low pressure air gun / compressor . Lightly oil all those parts with some type of Lubricant to prevent any rust potential .
Be careful cleaning aluminum parts in a sonic cleaner. Mine says this is a no no.Don't let metal to metal touch.
Mine has a Plastic basket.
I put small things in baggies or jars with cleaner & regular water in the cleaner.
