Typical Accuracy from hornady factory 6.5 creedmoor

Hi I am setting up a 6.5 for a friend and I like to at least shoot a group from a riflee to be sure its not a "dud". I am not set up to reload this caliber so was looking on midway at their selection and they seem to have the hornady stuff with the eld bullets. Whats the norm for accuracy with these?
Are they as capable as Fed 308 GMM? or more towards try them and see hunting rounds? Thanks

Others can comment more but when Savage brought their firearms list to our range for a "Day at the Range with Savage" Their 6.5 shot sub MOA. All ammo used what Hornady.

My buddy loved it so much he saved all the brass they would let him have and bought one.

I know it's not a sexy bullet, but I have shot 5 shot groups at 100 yds that were great with 129 grain Hornady Whitetail, and you can get it on sale for less than $1 a pop. I am talking about groups less than 0.4 if I do my part from a factory rifle. I am using a Tikka CTR, 20" barrel, and I am not that great a shooter.

I used a Savage action for a "Chassis Build" (MDT-TAC21) and just installed a new Benchmark Barrel. The Hornady factory loaded 140 gr ELD-M's shot .5 MOA all day long. I even shot (today) some American Eagle 140 gr OTM's with a nice group just over .5 MOA.

Handloaded ELD-M's shoot in the teens and twenties for me using lapua brass and H-4350. According to JBM Trajectory calculator my load should be a nice 1K load with possibilities out to 1300 yards (still supersonic) and I haven't even started to explore the maximum loads.

According to those who've shot the 6.5 Creedmoor a lot longer than me, it's a good LR target caliber for punching paper or making steel clang. Certainly should do the trick at shorter, ethical, hunting distances using Hornady's ELD-X bullets (designed to expand but extreme low drag like the "-M's"

I've shot three Hornady factory loads in my model 10 Predator Hunter Max 1 and model 12 Benchrest, the A-Max120, SST129, and American Hunter 140. In both rifles, the first two cartridges were just OK for short-to-medium-distance hunting, while the latter cartridge was distinctly more accurate and just sub-MOA.

Good luck.

Here are the factory rounds I've tried through my Kimber Montana. The rifle obviously favors Hornady Precision Hunter, but I was surprised by how well it liked the cheap-o American Whitetail load, especially when suppressed (except for that rediculous little flier off to the left). The Montana did not like the ELD match load, and all of the ELD match cases showed obvious pressure signs. I'm relatively sure the limfac on all of these targets is my pedestrian shooting ability, especially with a rifle that weighs 6lbs ready to hunt.

My RPR seems to really like Hornady ELD match fodder, it didn't show any of the pressure symptoms with this ammo that my Kimber does.
