Two reloading presses

My 2-1/2 cents is......
I use a RCBS Big Max for sizing big cartridge cases.
RCBS Reloader Special for sizing small to medium cartridge cases.
RCBS Partner for bullet seating all cartridges. I like the Partner because it has less leverage and it lets me feel any inconsistency in neck tension.

With my setup, there’s no guessing.

Guffey would probably tell a reloader to measure using a feeler gage to determine the distance between the top of the shell holder and the base of the die or the distance from the base the the lock ring after touch than use that as a transfer from press to press, and there is the cam over press.......
Wouldnt Guffey just say "there is no Headspace - end of story". Where is the Guff anyhow?

I'll second the suggestion for "Skip's shims" Come in a pack made to fit under a die lockring. Come in .003-.010 if memory serves. Just check the 2 presses to see which one needs a shim and how much. They can be stacked if the .010 is not enough. Total is over .050.

you could buy a set of these in the appropriate size(s)

I have one die that maintains.004 between the shell holder and the base of the die another with .007 despite the press label.
A third with .022 of cam over, I know this because I measured the base of the lock ring to the top of the press at touch without slack under the shell holder. That die I may put in a mill and take the off ten or fifteen thousand just because I don’t like hard camover.

Use the same press and get the quick change stuff from inlinefabrications i have there stuff and it works great and it will be cheaper then buying a second press.

Speaking of cam over...... The linkage on some presses go over center causing the ram to rise and then fall at the end of the stroke while others have a stop in the linkage that stops the press stroke just before going over center. The ones that "cam over" will produce repeatable results with a gap between the shell holder and the die. The ones with a stop may not. If you always adjust the sizing die to contact the shell holder you will get consistent results. This does require using the Redding Competition shell holders however.
