Two bears down

Took this one yesterday morning with one shot at 306 yards from my .375 H&H Number One, using a 260 gr Nosler Accubond loaded to a modest 2620 fps:

My son got one the day before with a 165 gr Nosler Solid Base launched from the old 1917 .30-06 that's been passed down in the family since WWII. His bear took off for the thick stuff, so a few more shots were fired to drop it. This one is going to be a great looking rug!

We were hunting here in Washington State, using our handloads. Great father-son hunt!

Guy,

I am always jealous of your photos and they do not ever suprise me because Im pretty sure we share the same hunting grounds. They have been very good to me to! Ive pulled 3 nice bucks and a nice cinnamon bear out of their in the past few years! Well Im sure I will see some nice Buck pics in a little over a month!

There is some great bear hunting here in Washington. I'm feeling really good about this father-son bear hunt. We got the boiled skulls back yesterday:

It was a great trip. Now there's a 9-month wait for the rugs... But in a few weeks we'll be out after mule deer in the Cascades! Good healthy outdoor stuff. Love it!

Beautiful pictures and I'm sure great memories for yourselves.

Refreshing to see non-camoed hunters these days :)
