Twist

I am in the process of building a 20BR and am having trouble with the twist issue. I want to shoot the 50 Gr Bergers and the 55 if and when they become available.
I was pretty much set on 8" twist but have read where that may be too quick for the 39/40 gr, blow up in flight). I do want to shoot the heavy bullets BUT do not want limited to those alone.
I have a 8" twist 6 Dasher and it will shoot the 55gr BT and not blow them up. Am I missing something on the twist, should I go with a 9 as a compromise??

I have a 9 twist in a 20-250 and it WILL NOT SHOOT 40 GRNERS.
I can shoot 45s but the 40s wont shoot werth beans
If you want to shoot 50s and up 9 is great but I would not plan on shooting any thing liter.
A 10 should work for 50s and below I am working on one now

I have a Savage 22-250 with a 9, and can't shoot anything under 55gr.
What loads are you using for the 45 and 50 gr bullets?

Thear is a BIG difrence between a 22 and a 20 when talking about twist rates I have a slow 223 with a 9 twist that will shoot 50 grners but wont try to shoot 50s out of a 220 swift hot loads with a 9 twist
same kinda thing with a 20 cal a 8 or 9 twist is for the hevy bullets 20-250 45 grn or up my 9 twist likes the 50s better.

Obviously I have a reading comprehension problem.
You wrote 20-250, I read 22-250.
My mistake.
