Twist for 6x45 barrel

New here but not to reloading,ready to order a 6x45 savage barrel.would 1 in 8 be a happy medium to shoot light varmint bullets once in a while and the 85 90 most of the time.thanks

My 6x45 is 1-8 twist and the lightest bullet that shoots well is the 65 grain v-max.

Thanks pdog ,Its a matter of getting one in stock with 1-8 or waiting up to two months for a 1-9 or 1-10 twist.I have dies but don't really want to wait that long

The best twist for 55-95g bullets in the 6x45 will be 1/10" IMO.
I built mine in 2011 and that's what mine is and everything I load shoots under moa at all ranges to 700yds with any of the bullets I run.
All my 80-95 g loads run .600 at 100 yds. At 700 yds Im getting 6" w/95g bullets so I cant complain.
My bbl is 24" long also.
Most run the 1/9" or 1/10" twist in the 6x45.
BHW or Ritches precision arms can have your AR15 or Savage/Ruger/Remmy barrel in about 6 weeks.

Ten twist is best. I run 55-85g bullets in mine. I like the faster loads in my AR.

I like my 9 twist, it shoots everything I've tried in it 55--85
and I found a good load for all of'em.

i'll vote on a 13.5 twist since that is what i have at present. i shoot paper and varmints and it is very rare if we don't have wind in my area. speed is the key assuming shot placement and terminal ballistics are adequate. however, i am considering a new build with a faster twist since this gun is so accurate.
