twist ? for 6.5x47L

Will a 1:9 twist work for a 140gr+ bullet with a 6.5x47L or do I need a 8.5??? The gun would be shoot @ over 4000ft. elevation if that helps. If not, what the heaviest I could go with a 1:9?

Berger's website list a 9 twist but I think most people go with either an 8 or 8.5 I know my Bartlein 8.5 twist shoots the 130 Berger's lights out

I agree with what 280man said, 8.5 is ideal. If you already have the 9 twist barrel, probably stick with the 130's, maybe even the 123's. Of course, you could try them all, that is after all part of the fun.

I have a 1:8.5 twist on my 260, it shoots 140gr bullets just fine. MV=2780fps.
