Turret press setup

So I am just curious how some folks setup their turret presses. Do you keep the shell holder consistent by caliber? Do you setup by primer size? Most used calibers all on 1 turret?

Right now I have the 3 calibers I intend to load most for setup on 1 turret. I got to thinking though some are small primer with smaller shell holder and some are large primer with larger shell holders. I use Redding competition sets.

I have 1 extra turret and was just going to set it up for my remaining 3 calibers I have dies for. Before I get too far along I wondered if anyone had a better system? I could see putting my 2 small shell holder small primer calibers on 1 turret and the large ones on another. My last caliber is 45/70 and I have a specific single shell holder for it so it could go on the small turret.

Kind of pay attention where the handle is that moves the turret too. My Lyman has 8 die holes and two places for the handle. I set one set of four pistol dies in use order to the right of one handle hole, this makes the second set of pistol dies line up the very same way off the second handle hole.

I never warmed up to have a multi-caliber set up but have used my turret press that way.
My original turret press was a Lyman Spar-T and I regret selling it, it worked just as well as my replacement Redding T-7.

Because I load handgun ammo on a Dillon the T-7 doesn't get used much these days. I have two turrets and found that changing them in a pain in the neck. Why the detent ball isn't captive is lost on me.

One turret is set up for 30-06, Redding Premium Dies, Lyman "M" die, Small Base die, so there aren't many empty holes left. The other turret is used for everything else.

I prime with a LEE Auto Prime II and have a RCBS bench mounted priming tool too.

I de-prime and prime with other tools, not in the press. I set up each head with calibers that cannot be confused, like 223 and 308.
marking the head with calibers also helps.

I'm using the Lee 4 hole turret press.
So one caliber per turret plate.

That and I always have an extra 1 or 2 turret plates on standby.

All seaters on one press, fl sizers on the other press. T7’s. Might get another press for mandrels.

I am seriously thinking about pulling my .243 and .308 dies off my current turret and moving them to my extra one along with my .280 rem. I can keep my .204 dies and Forster universal deprime die on the current turret and add 300 BO dies on it. That gives me one more 2 die setup for small primers on that turret. I can prob add .223 or maybe 350 legend. I am conflicted though bc I will most likely load mostly .204, .243, and 45/70. I guess I could always add another turret for 45/70 but then do I just keep that all straight walled and add the 350? lol
