Tuning on RimX

Been working RimX with Shilen Ratchet 22LR . Wasn’t shooting like i thought it should . A little tight to chamber some of the SK Long Range but not bad . CenterX and Midas + chamber fine . 100 yard groups let buddy shoot gun he shot bottom group and I dhot top group. Both with SK LR .

I found the 4 and 1 groups were mostly me.

Different ammo would be the easiest thing to try. I use a tuner on my long range rig. I like being able to make those needed adjustments. A tuner isn’t an end all he all though. You still gotta match the ammo best you can. I chamber a lot of the shilen ratchet barrels in my shop.
Most shoot but not a 100% of them will. I guess it’s like anything else. Some barrels are just better than others. I like to slug each and every barrel that I chamber. If I don’t feel any taper lap I won’t chamber them. Keep trying different ammo combos if you have access.

If those are 100 yard groups I would be very happy with the results if they are repeatable.

Does that one shot left of the group always happen? if so you have too much weight on the barrel.

Yes 100 yards . Ihave different lots of Midas and some shoot better and more consistent than other . Just a 22LR ! LOL . One shot left was. Just what it was doing that day . Wind was gusty so it is hard to say , barrel might be warming a little . Barrel it a R5 contour 24” from breach to muzzle Exactly . Not sorting ammo just shooting right out of box . Some are a little tighter than others . Shot with different stock yesterday and it shot different , still shot great but not the stock Iam going to use .
