Tuner question.

600/1000 BR

Lets say you have the perfect tune for 600 yards. 30 seconds later you shoot a 1000 target. Did you / do you need to change your tuner?

My thought is no, but it is all voo-doo to me.

Thanks,
Tod

Not exactly same yardage but I have went from 100 out to 600 yds. with same tuner setting without changing.

In my experience, yes the tune changes. Im talking peak tune. Im not a tuner guy so I cant say what to do there, but the raw tune is not the same. I have a lot of guys on tuners. Im still very mixed.

Generally no, but like Alex said, you may not be tuned to the hilt at both yardages. You'll be very close or in tune. I do all tuning by group shape so I would read the sighter or whatever you can base it on and only move it if the target says to. First sign of it going out of tune is typically straight vertical.

Theoretically, if you are tuned for any positive compensation at the top of the swing, it'll be out a little but IME, not much if any.

Keep something in mind though. Tuners tune essentially just like changing powder charge. They don't make things happen that wouldn't have happened without a tuner, generally speaking. They are just a tool to bring it back into tune without having to change anything about the load. Don't overthink them. They don't cause changes in tune to take place unless you move it. Otherwise, if anything, it'll very slightly hold tune better just due to some weight being at the muzzle.
