With some rifles having a 50 fps or more velocity spread, they shoot smaller groups in MOA at long and short range than mid range. Bullets leave on the muzzle axis upswing so slower ones leave at higher angles than faster ones.
Like I have said before...the ES on my LG that I used to win the Nationals in 2011 had a HORRABLE ES...like 40 or 50. Now..it was like 10,000 degrees that year at nats, and maybe things changed and it straightened it self out, but when I left North Dakota it was shooting itty bitty groups at 1000 with a bad ES....at least in 70 - 85 degree weather.
