Tuner for a 1.023 barrel.

Stiller and Harrels said it might break through the threads that clamp it on. Mike Ezell hasn't answered my emails. Any suggestions?
 
I don't think you are going to find a tuner made for rimfire that can fit that barrel. That being said, you could probably build a reducing sleeve that would clamp on the barrel and then clamp a tuner on it. A bit convoluted, but would probably work.

Or as a last resort, take the screws out, make it fit and red loctite it knowing you will have to heat it to get it off. Not a great option either.

Or, last option as I believe you have the equipment, make one yourself to fit. It's really just about unscrewing an outer sleeve to move weight in and out. You could create a rudimentary one and just use a few set screws to hold it where you want. The clicks are nice, but if I had no other choice, I wouldn't be afraid to try it.

It may be possible to bore this and put it in the mill to drill and tap. I'll have to take measurements.
My Walther KK300 is a .860 barrel with a 1.023 diameter the last 2.150 of the muzzle. Walther felt it necessary to have that for their factory tune. Maybe a tuner may not help.
 
Tuners work because of weight ahead of the crown, not at the end of the barrel. I would bore it to fit and worry about how to keep it on as part 2.

Did you read the Bulletin attachment link that I posted? It states that the advantage is beyond the muzzle. I have about a half dozen that I kept before selling them to Grizzly.

Young feller, I agreed with you. I said to read the Bulletin article where we agreed. The weight is better beyond the muzzle. The only reason I mentioned Walther was to let guys know that it wasn't a home made rifle.
No reason to get touchy, I was agreeing with you.
 
With extra weight already at the end of the barrel you may not need all the weight in a Harrels. I would try a lighter tuner if you don't get positive results from a standard one.

To Jamie's point, you could also make your own. I had a different problem & needed a lighter tuner & thats the route I went. If interested I can pm you what I did.

To answer it again, yes, my rimfire tuner clamp can be opened to 1.050 max.

I'm sorry for any lack of communication but we had this talk and it should be in your email folder. I did answer you. No, I'm not perfect but this is the first I've heard, and in a public way, at that.

I have a Harrels Tuner, which I had bored out to 26mm ( 1.0236" dia)

No problems with the clamping screws.

This was to fit a Walther KK500
