Tuner/brake cleaning

Just started with a Harrels tuner/brake. How are you guys cleaning it? Are you removing it to clean out carbon.

Remove and clean in ultrasonic cleaner. Takes about 15 minutes.

I don't have an ultrasonic. Soak in Seafoam, turns thick carbon to jelly. I also use it in my barrels.

So you are removing it. How often, # shot? My .308 w/ Varget. Me too, no ultra, I'm poor. Result of this forum.

I get significant buildup at 100 rounds, and it may not be necessary but I clean for preventive maintenance. Worst deposits are on the muzzle/crown. Clean and then monitor to determine your schedule.

You can also soak them in carb cleaner overnight.
