Tumbler vs. Ultra sonic case cleaners?

I'am not sure but I don't think it will. I've got the Thumbler Model B and it will tumble almost anything. (small child if you could fit them in the barrel ;))

Doc,
"use hoover vacuum cleaner belts (big o-rings) at $2 for 2 from the local hardware store!!"

Thanks for the tip on the big o-ring supply. I could use a spare and something to do on a cold winter day.

Pictures are unbelievable! This is the third time I have heard about the SS cleaner! All praise the setup! Now, let's find the best price!

I recently switched from ultrasonic to the stainless/thumler tumbler method. The tumbler gets the brass cleaner than anything and is super easy and quick to set up. No other method can clean dirty old corroded range brass like the thumler with stainless media.

The only downside I've seen with the stainless media is it does rub off the very top of the case neck where it has been cut thin by a trimmer. For example, I use the Giraud neck trimmer which leaves a thin, somewhat sharp edge. When I tumble cases, this thin edge is worn dull, slightly shortening the case. On the plus side, the lip of the neck is perfectly smooth with no rough edges. On the minus side, this alters when and how much neck trimming is required.

I have wondered if the slight peening is from the impact of the ss media itself or from the cases hitting against each other? When looking close my cases have an overall mottled look from impacts- very subtle but noticeable compared to an untumbled smooth case. they definately come out shiney and cleaner than new and I use one of the cheapest Thumblers model A with the smoother tumbler without all the ridges inside.

Ron: By "not" cleaning your brass, you just end up not looking as "cool" as the other guys at the range. ;)
If it works for you, who cares what the other guys think? 8) It's your brass. Do what "you" want with it. ;D
