TUBB DUST

Alrighty then. Went to the Belmont site, saw where a pound of bismuth would run $28 + shipping I'm sure. This was graded at 100 mesh size. Googling away, 100 mesh is listed as .0059" so that leaves the mesh material right at .004".
This being a totally new area to me, my question: Is this fine enough to get the job done? I realize that smaller sizes will also fall through...closer to dust but some will be nearly two bond paper thkns... .006"
Maybe a mortar and pestil will be my next purchase?

Hope your recovery goes well George.

That was lurking in the back of my mind.
But...you know how we shooters like a "bargain"!
:)

I don't want to stir any pots whatsoever.

My only suggestion as to answering the question "Does it work?" is to try it out. Patch until "clean" and then use whatever you have been using and note if you get a bluish green with what you were using.

Yes. In fact lots of people have tested it. Just none of the people that seem to be so adamant posting on this thread.
The adamant people are not just voices in the wind. They have verifiable tested and proven credentials and several of them are saying the same thing.
Of course, the proof is in the pudding.

Urbanrifleman, We get it. You love David Tubb. Get a room...

You people crack me up. There's like a core group of you that are the only ones that are allowed to have any kind of experience and or knowledge of anything. And the mere mention of the word David Tubb you just bristle with what is that jealousy? Inadequacy? I'm still trying to figure it out

And it's like you take over every thread and beat down anyone that doesn't conform to your little group. And browbeat people and say snarky things. And you all laugh and think it's hilarious. And it's taking away from the Forum and you should stop.

Nothing wrong with with a good syrup, some just don’t like it poured on too thick!

The thread is called TUBB DUST.

As far as I can tell it's mostly just implying David Tubb is a liar for money, and "I would never use that" responses.

And of course the obligatory shot at me for saying anything positive about David Tubb... which is predictable at this point.

Here is a real review:

Tubb Dust works. I have not tested to 500 rounds. I have found I can shoot 100 rounds and the barrel is shooting just as small at 100 as it did at 20.

I think the TZ powders work just as well straight out of the bottle to decopper. I have tested AR Comp and R16 and they do coat the barrel and foul less in general.

I feel that eventually all manufacturers will have decoppering agents that actually performed as promised. VV has already added it to theirs.

I encourage people to try it and clean less and just see if the barrel continues to shoot long after it would stop shooting without it. Some will prefer to clean their barrels. Others will not. But to recognize that stuff in your barrel from these additives is actually not bad will be the first step.
