Yea, I lived in the Orlando area for fifteen years and you are correct that hurricanes and tropical storms are usually the only exceptions.

Recently changed powders , and the first "Run" on a Lab ; the SD came out to 9 , but velocity was a bit low . Next time around ; I bumped the load to where I thought it should be velocity-wise . Got the velocity I was seeking , and a SD of 6 , on a fifty-shot string . Some days are just better than others .

Three days later ; I won my first Match with that load . And my last practice , shot a 198 in very breezy conditions . Your Chrono may be telling the truth .

Three shots don't tell you anything in reality about your real standard deviation other than it's highly unlikely to repeat. You did have three shots that measured within the precision of the chronograph.

I never use ES/SD numbers for just 3 shots, I base my ES/SD numbers off 10 shot strings. With that said, I guess it's possible to get 3 rounds with the exact same velocity. But if I were you I'd take that load and shoot some 10 shot strings.

If the 3 shot results are any indication, it will still probably be good ES/SD...but highly unlikely they will be that low.

I don't disagree. However, I usually shoot 5 shot groups. It's a hunting rifle. If I can get good numbers and accuracy with repeatable results with a 5 shot group, I figure I'm OK. However, I will be the first to say that I do not have the experience of most of the members here .... so my thoughts could just be a bunch of hot air.

I had that happen over a 5 shot string ONCE! In my 6BR, Son & I couldn't beleive it!

just yesterday was using a magnetospeed on some 22-250 load develop and getting crazy es. shot 3 rounds of a legacy load as a sanity check and measured (in this order) 3613, 3614, 3613. unless it is an optical chrono i tend to believe the instrument.
