True and blue?

Lots of smiths assume things are perfect out of the box. Not true, not even close.... It takes time and effort to go through things, its a money losing effort but if you want to put out the best you do it. Those that down play it, just dont know.
What is actually done to a bolt and action to true it?
 
Factory bolts are loose in the raceway. You buy a new bolt of the correct diameter or bush the OD to tighten clearances. It is an advantage to bush the bolt face and use a smaller firing pin diameter. You will need to face the end of the bolt and true the lugs. Most receiver race ways are different diameter from front to rear ring. You need to ream the raceway to a uniform diameter, single point the threads to straighten them to the bore center, face the lug abutments, and face of the front receiver ring.
