Trued 700's

Is there a standard to Turing an action. What I'm getting at is .Are they blue printed in a way that if you had two separate actions , trued by two separate smiths , would the barrels interchange,
Or is it just removing enuf metal to get things lined up and strait. k Redden

likely not, yes.

whats funny is that every operation has a margin of error that gets stacked on the last operation, and its referred to as "truing".

It's likely a barrel will screw on to both actions, it may be hard to turn on to one and way to easy on the other, the headspace will likely be incorrect for either, if you are going to blueprint the actions then take them to a gunsmith and have him decide if they are shootable/switchable with the different barrels. They can be made to do so.

Very funny , I was fortunate to have a friend tell me not to use the brand x gun smith I had found on my first build. He had referred me to Mr Dowling and I have been shooting pretty little groups ever since. So glad I didn't go the other route. A gun will only shoot as good as your smith.

I see no reason any good machinist/gunsmith like Sid Goodling could machine both bolts the same and then set up the recievers to make them both the same regarding headspace.

Two separate smiths - that is the problem. Both need to be done by the same smith, and a good one. What Sid Goodling does (for switch barrels), he makes a sketch of dimensions of every barrel he chambers, with your name and details on it. I imagine he could do this for separate actions also. Headspace of both is critical.
